Stay Hydrated, Stay Glowing: Summer Skincare Tips☀️
Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far!
With scorching heat upon us, it’s essential to pay extra attention to your skincare routine. One of the most crucial aspects of maintaining healthy and radiant skin during this season is staying hydrated, both inside and outside. Alongside drinking plenty of water and consuming fresh fruits and veggies, the right skincare can work wonders to keep your skin nourished and glowing.
- Drink Water: Let’s start with the basics: hydration from within. Many people are chronically dehydrated, so drinking an adequate amount of water daily is crucial for anyone who wants to maintain healthy skin. As the temperatures rise, our bodies lose more water through perspiration. To combat dehydration and keep your skin plump and radiant, remember to replenish regularly! Add a little lemon juice for extra cleansing benefits – I usually squeeze half a lemon into a large glass of water first thing in the morning. This helps hydrate from the inside out.
- Incorporate fresh fruit: With the advent of diets that emphasize high protein/low carb, many of us over the past decade or so have developed a fear of fruit. You know the claims from paleo/keto centric wellness gurus: sugar feeds cancer and leads to terrible diseases like diabetes. Sure, if you’re having high fructose corn syrup in your morning coffee and indulging regularly in other refined sweeteners. But not all sugar is created equal and there is healthy and essential glucose, fiber, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals from natural raw fruit that the body and brain need to function. So do your skin (and tastebuds) a favor and enjoy all the nutritious fruit now in season!
- Exfoliate Wisely: Exfoliation is an essential step to remove dead skin cells and reveal your radiant complexion. However, during the summer, when the skin is more exposed to the sun, it’s crucial to exfoliate wisely. Opt for a gentle exfoliator that doesn’t irritate or sensitize your skin so it can slough off dead skin cells gently, promoting a smoother texture and allowing better absorption of the hydrating ingredients found in your Essentiel moisturizer.
- Hydrate with Essentiel Moisture: To maintain supple and glowing skin throughout the summer, it’s crucial to incorporate a lightweight, yet deeply hydrating lotion into your skincare routine. Essentiel Moisture is specifically designed to provide potent hydration and nourishment to all parts of your face and body. Its clean formula quickly absorbs into the skin, delivering a surge of moisture without leaving a greasy residue. Infused with botanical extracts and essential vitamins, minerals, and oils, this lotion replenishes and locks in moisture, leaving your skin soft, smooth, and radiant.
5. Protect with SPF: Please protect your skin no matter the season. During summer, when UV rays are at their peak, it’s especially important to shield your skin from sun damage. Look for a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and apply it generously to all exposed areas of your face and body. It’s best to avoid conventional sunscreens since most contain harmful chemicals. Natural sunscreens work wonderfully and my favorites are Babo and Coola.
By adopting these practices and incorporating Essentiel Moisture into your skincare routine, you’ll be well on your way to maintaining healthy, radiant skin that’s ready to embrace the joys of warmer weather.
Wishing everyone a wonderful summer (and lots of watermelon🍉)!
Love my Essentiel skin care lotion – I use it every day to replace moisture on my face… and my now slightly balding pate. You mention sunscreen in the blog, and I’ve really been thinking about writing you about including some in the lotion so that I don’t have to apply sunscreen separately when I’m headed out on a sunny day. I know I can wear a hat – but I often forget.
Hi! I love that you are loving the moisturizer and using it everyday 🙂 Personally, I believe applying a separate sunscreen on top of the lotion is far more effective than those moisturizers that include an SPF. And yes, hats help too!
