HYALURONIC ACID (HA)
Hyaluronic Acid is naturally found in the body. It acts as a skin sponge, capable of retaining heaps of hydration, holding up to 1,000 times its weight in water! Its incredible ability to retain moisture keeps skin plump and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Naturally occurring in the body, HA is a dietary supplement and key component of healthy connective tissue. When applied topically, HA helps hold water in the skin and protects against free radical damage.
MSM
A food-source odorless sulfur compound that’s been called a ‘beauty mineral’. Sulfur is the third most abundant mineral in the body, most concentrated in skin, nails and hair. Ancient Romans soaked in sulfur baths and many considered it the ‘fountain of youth’. Acne, dandruff and eczema have been treated with sulfur compounds for centuries. MSM helps bind keratin proteins and is essential for the body to produce collagen.
COFFEE BERRY
Coffee Berry Extract is one of the most potent natural antioxidants. It helps calm redness, helps to improve the appearance of wrinkles, and helps to reduce swelling and neutralize free radicals in skin that causes pre-mature aging.

RASPBERRY LEAF
Raspberry Leaf Extract has an exceptionally high proportion of alpha and gamma tocopherols (Vitamin E), Vitamin A and Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. It also contains Vitamin C and powerful polyphenols (antioxidants) that act as a tightening astringent. It is believed to provide broad-spectrum protection from damaging UV-A and UV-B rays. It is great for treating dry skin conditions and acne because of its strong moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties.
GRAPESEED OIL
Grapeseed oil is rich in antioxidants, minerals, protein, linoleic acid and Vitamin E and other potent vitamins. This oil is light and easily absorbed, making it especially moisturizing for dry, damaged or aging skin. It provides regenerative and restructuring benefits to all skin types.
LAVENDER

GERANIUM
Geranium oil is ideal for stressed skin. It brings back the glow that makes skin look luminous again. It improves elasticity, irritation and calms the skin while providing an uplifting, sensual scent. This ingredient helps keep skin supple by balancing the skin’s sebum production. It also assists with eczema, edema, circulation and stress.
SHEA
Shea Butter is rich in vitamins A, E and F, minerals, proteins and a potent combination of essential fatty acids. It restores skin’s elasticity, protects and conditions skin damaged by the sun and wind, and acts as a protective barrier against environmental toxins. Exceptionally moisturizing and soothing, this ingredient balances and hydrates the skin and is also known to promote skin renewal.
ALOE
Aloe is packed with amino acids, potent vitamins C, A, E, B1, B2 and B6 and beta carotene. It soothes skin, treats sunburn, eczema, psoriasis and acne, heals wounds and relieves irritation. This powerful multi-purpose plant is great for preventing scarring and improving firmness. COCONUT
Cold-pressed coconut oil is the ultimate hydrator packed with essential fatty acids that minimize moisture loss. It prevents cracking of cuticles and overall dryness, while adding additional antibacterial and antifungal properties. Coconut oil strengthens skin and promotes a smooth supple complexion. SUNFLOWER SEED OIL
Sunflower Seed Oil boasts more Vitamin E than any other vegetable oil. Cold pressed and highly versatile, this oil is rich in vitamins A and D, lecithin and essential fatty acids Omega 6 and 9. It is recommended for damaged and aging skin and is believed to normalize the complexion.
VEGETABLE GLYCERIN
Our glycerin is a vegetable-derived natural humectant that attracts water to skin. Some glycerin is of animal origin, but Essentiel exclusively uses vegetable-derived glycerin. Its water-binding capabilities allows it to draw and absorb water from the air helping skin retain moisture. Non-irritating and soothing, it can be used on even the most sensitive skin.
HONEYSUCKLE FLOWER EXTRACT (LONICERA CAPRIFOLIUM AND LONICERA JAPONICA)
Honeysuckle Flower Extract is a natural preservative derived from the honeysuckle plant. Its broad-spectrum antibacterial effects make it suitable for the antimicrobial protection of lotions and other cosmetic applications. Our honeysuckle is extracted with CO2 (not formaldehyde). The p-hydroxy benzoic acid found in honeysuckle is not a paraben. This acid is a powerful antioxidant that is also found in cranberries, acai berries, plums and other berries.
CITRIC ACID
Citric acid naturally occurs in almost all living things, including – you guessed it – citrus fruits. It controls pH and stabilizes active ingredients that would otherwise be prone to oxidative stress and destruction. This nature-identical, food-grade preservative is safely sourced from a controlled non-GMO environment.
POTASSIUM SORBATE
Potassium Sorbate is used to preserve products and protect against harmful bacteria and microorganisms. It’s another one that may sound like a scary chemical, but its safety data claims it’s comparable to table salt. Potassium Sorbate is included in the Handbook of Green Chemicals and is Whole Foods Premium Body approved.
ROSEMARY LEAF EXTRACT
Rosemary Leaf Extract is rich in vitamins B1, B3 and C, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, potassium and zinc. It is an astringent that purifies and refreshes skin. This versatile extract is commonly used as a facial oil for extremely dry skin, but is equally beneficial to oily complexions.
POLYGLYCERYL-2 STEARATE, GLYCERYL STEARATE & STEARYL ALCOHOL
The combination of these three naturally-derived ingredients are the key to Essentiel’s consistency. They say ‘oil and water don’t mix’ but this powerful trio emulsifies, stabilizes and thickens our lotion without the use of dangerous PEGs and other ethoxylated ingredients to prevent separation.
Polyglyceryl-2-Stearate sounds like a scary chemical, but is a food-source emulsifier naturally derived from coconut sources.
Glyceryl Stearate is a food-source stabilizer derived from coconut sources. It strengthens the skin barrier and slows moisture loss.
Stearyl Alcohol is a natural emulsifier derived from vegetable fatty acids. This ‘alcohol’ is never drying and actually soothes and softens skin.
XANTHAN GUM
Xanthan Gum is a sugar-based compound used as a thickening agent in foods and skincare. This glucose-derived emulsifier allows ingredients that would normally not bind together (i.e. oil and water) to join forces in a safe, skin-satisfying blend.
