While many of our ingredients are organically farmed, Essentiel Moisture is not certified organic. Often certification comes down to cost – for the farmer as well as the consumer. Using safe, natural ingredients is our top priority, as is providing a quality product at an affordable price. In order to accomplish this, we have learned that we must find a balance between our idealistic roots and our realistic aspirations. Deciphering the difference between organic and certified organic often comes down to more money for everyone involved.

All of our ingredients have been carefully considered and are included because they serve an essential purpose. Many benign ingredients may sound scary, like Polyglyceryl-2 stearate, yet in reality, this natural plant-derived oil and water emulsifier prevents and repairs skin damage. Likewise, Vitis Vinifera, is the industry standard term for grapeseed oil.

No. The natural oils used in Essentiel Moisture help restore skin’s moisture balance. They should not cause breakouts or congest pores. Our lotion absorbs easily and does not leave skin feeling greasy or looking shiny.

Essentiel Moisture was formulated for the face, but it’s exceptionally beneficial for all parts of the body. You wouldn’t want to use a conventional body lotion on your face since skin is more sensitive and delicate there than other areas. Our face is also the most prioritized part so we’ve formulated Essentiel with ingredients fine enough for a premiere ‘face’ lotion.  

The answer ultimately comes down to quality. It’s like comparing olive oil to Crisco. You can cook with either and both will get the job done, though olive oil is clearly the healthier and more versatile choice. You wouldn’t ruin your artisanal baguette by dipping it in Crisco, whereas an exceptional olive oil would be the perfect complement.

Essentiel Moisture was created to benefit all skin types. Formulated with sensitive skin in mind and tested extensively, Essentiel Moisture is a healthy addition to any skincare regimen. All skincare products containing aqueous/liquid materials require a preservative system to maintain freshness and avoid serious health risks. Essentiel Moisture is free of parabens, formaldehyde, ethoxylated ingredients and other synthetic preservatives that are known toxins and can irritate the skin. In order to extend the shelf life past a few days, and to uphold the integrity (and safety) of our product, we include food-grade citric acid and potassium sorbate – two preservatives commonly used in natural foods and skincare. The antibacterial properties of Honeysuckle Extract (both Lonicera caprifolium and Lonicera japonica) further protect Essentiel from harmful bacteria, microbes and mold growth.

Our preservatives are not only safe, but may also provide added benefits to your skin.

For most people, 1 pump from the big bottle (8.4 OZ), or 4 pumps from little bottle (1.7 OZ) works well for the face. That said, everyone’s skin is different, so some may need more lotion to hydrate drier skin. Others can stretch that amount to include their neck and/or chest area. Notice how your skin feels and if you need more moisture, apply more product. Your skin will always appreciate the extra nutrients, so feel free to be liberal and enjoy!
